DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICES  Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Technician

The City of Three Rivers is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Geographical Information System (GIS) Technician in the Department of Public Services. This position is responsible for maintaining the City’s GIS system; interprets civil engineering plans, plat maps and legal descriptions, conducts mapping research in the field and office, and performs calculations using algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Responsibilities also include address ordinance administration, floodplain administration, and reviewing parcels for correct property identification numbers.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent course work at a technical or vocational school in Geographic Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field required. Experience working with geographic information systems preferred. Must be able to work independently or with a group, and perform multiple tasks in a busy office. Excellent customer service, verbal, and written skills required.
